Standard 2: Your Personal Development

Your development does not stop when induction ends, and nobody should leave it to chance. This course follows Chi Eze through her first three months at a new supported living service: drafting a personal development plan, walking into her first supervision prepared, getting through a shift that went wrong and learning from it, and checking the everyday reading, number, communication and digital skills the job relies on. You will know what a personal development plan is for and who agrees it with you, where your support comes from (supervision, appraisal, shadowing, e-learning, qualifications), how to ask for feedback and use a simple reflection model on a hard day, and where to check and build your own skills, often for free. It covers the knowledge for Care Certificate Standard 2 (March 2025) and prepares you for the three criteria your employer must see you do at work.
